Audacity – Free Audio Editing Software


  audacity.sourceforge.net... Audacity is free, open source software for recording and editing sounds. It is available for Mac OS X, Microsoft Windows, GNU/Linux, and other operating systems. You can create MP3 voice recordings, convert sound clips to MP3 or edit sound clips (cut, split ect...). Great for cutting certain parts of speeches, songs or whatever!

audacity.sourceforge.net  Choose Audacity 1.2.6 installer.

Once you have Audacity, you then need the LAME MP3 encoder which allows Audacity to export MP3 files.  The link below includes directions:
