I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Counseling, Leadership, Literacy, and Special Education and the Coordinator of the Graduate Programs in Educational Leadership. Through a collaborative effort, I helped create Lehman College's Educational Leadership Programs and develop the curriculum.

I received a bachelor's degree in English Literature and Creative Writing from Marist College; a master's degree in English Literature from SUNY New Paltz; and a professional diploma and doctorate (both in Educational Administration and Supervision) from St. John's University. Also, I have post-doctoral training in educational administration from Harvard University.

Prior to coming to Lehman College, I taught English at both the middle and high school levels, as well as served as an academic administrator in higher education for close to six years. I hold New York State certification as an English (7-12) teacher and as a School District Administrator.

My office is in Carman Hall, B53, and I can be reached at janet.desimone@lehman.cuny.edu. Feel free to stop by and see me!
