ELCC Standard 7.0: Internship. The internship provides significant opportunities for candidates to synthesize and apply the knowledge and practice and develop the skills identified in ELCC Standards 1-6 through substantial, sustained, standards-based work in real settings, planned and guided cooperatively by the institution and by the school leaders for graduate credit.

I have had the opportunity to have leadership experiences in my own school as well as outside of my school in a high school and middle school setting. My school is the third largest elementary school in the Bronx, with 1550 students. It is a diverse, energetic, and sometimes hectic place to work. I have been fortunate enough to have a principal that has mentored me through the process and answered any questions or concerns I had along the way. My leadership experiences vary from attending meetings and observing to leading professional developments andgiving nonevaluative feedback to teachers.
